Copy Multiple Tasks
Multiple tasks can be copied simultaneously from the Edit Tasks screen. To Copy more than one task at a time, navigate to the Edit Tasks screen where you can select which tasks you wish to copy. From the top burger menu you will see the option Copy Tasks. Clicking this will launch the Copy Tasks Modal Window.
Please Note: A maximum of 10 tasks can be copied at one time
From the Copy Task Modal Window you must select the Target Runbook where you want the tasks to be moved to, this can be to elsewhere in the current Runbook or to a completely different Runbook.
Once you have selected the Target Runbook you then have to select the Phase then Stage to which the tasks should be copied to.
Retain Predecessors
When copying tasks you have the ability to copy tasks and retain predecessor tasks. This means that tasks which are being copied that have dependencies to tasks which are not being copied will be retained, as long as the tasks being copied are not being copied into another phase of the current Runbook. If this box is not selected then any dependencies to other tasks not being copied will be lost.
If there are any Predecessor Dependencies within the task grouping which is being moved, these will always be retained.
Retain Successors
When copying tasks you have the ability to copy tasks and retain any successor tasks. Selecting to retain the successor tasks means that the tasks which are being copied which have dependencies to tasks which are not being copied will remain, as long as the tasks being copied are not being copied into another phase of the current Runbook. If this box is not selected then any dependencies to other tasks not being copied will be lost.
If there are any Successor Dependencies within the task grouping which is being moved, these will always be retained.
Retain Ownership
You can choose to retain ownership when copying tasks within the existing Runbook or to another Runbook. When retaining Ownership you have the ability to retain both the Owner and Team or one or the other.
When copying tasks to another Runbook, if the User invoking the copy action is a Deployment Manager in both Runbooks, when copying the tasks and retaining ownership, then the team members and teams from the tasks which have been copied will be added to the Deployment Team of the Runbook they are copied to. If the User is not a Deployment Manager in the Target Runbook then the ownership will not be retained or added to the Deployment Team.
Retain Notes
If Notes have been chosen to be retained then irrespective of whether or not the author is part of the Target Deployment the notes attached to the tasks will be copied across.
Retain Documents
If documents are attached to tasks, these can also be retained when coping tasks, by checking the Retain Documents checkbox.
