Raise Issue - Backout Runbook
Users can create an Issue and select to Backout the Runbook when doing so. Completing this process will result in an 'Open' Issue (which can be closed) and transition the Runbook to a Backing Out State (or Backed Out State if there are no Backout Tasks in the Implementation Phase of the Backout). Runbbooks must be in an Active State to perform this function. Users will not be able to perform this function unless they have at least author authorisation level and Imp Manager status.
Raise Issue
To raise an Issue and transition the Runbook to a Backout State, select 'Raise Issue', which is located in the Runbook - Issues panel as illustrated below or select 'Backout' from the Runbook Summary panel. This will take you to the Raise Issue screen. Selecting 'Backout' will automatically populate the Action field.
Raise Issue
The Raise Issue form will present you with the relevant fields you need to complete.
Insert, at least, all mandatory fields to Create the Issue, notably: the Title, the Severity, and the Description then select Raise Issue.
Runbook in Backout - Backout Context
You will note that by following this process, the Runbook has transitioned to a Backing Out state. You will also note that the Runbook Context has automatically flipped to Backout so the User is presented with the suite of tasks in the Backout Now phase.
Runbook in Backout - Implementation Context
You will also note if you switch to the Implementation Context of the Runbook, that the tasks in the Implementation phase are no longer available for activation. By selecting the Backout option as a result of the Issue raised, the Implementation plan can no longer proceed.
List Issues
You will note, by observing the List Issues screen, that the Issue just created has transitioned the Runbook to a Backout state. The Severity of the Issue can be seen and the Status open (see respectively, the icon in the Severity column and the open icon in the Status column).
