Inflight Update Tab

The In-flight Update Tab is a powerful feature that allows Deployment Managers and Task Owners to manually adjust a Tasks' Start Time, End Time or its' Percentage Complete.  This tab only becomes available to users for Active Tasks.  It allows amendments to be made to overwrite human errors such as forgetting to Activate a Task when it became available, or to adjust the End time or percentage complete if it's known the Task is likely to take longer.

The In-flight Update Panel is located on the Task Detail screen (408)

Please note that this feature is only available to Deployment Managers of the Runbook or Task owners who are of Author authorisation or above.

Updating a Tasks Start Time

Users have the ability to amend the Start Time of a Task.  They can 'Roll Back' the Start Time of the Task to the point in which is first became Available.

A good example of this would be:

A Task Owner begins an activity but forgets to start their Task in ICEFLO, the Deployment Manager or Task Owner, can manually adjust the Start Time to reflect the true time at which the Task was actually started. The Task cannot be set to a Start time before it actually became available for activation.

In doing this, the Percentage Complete will recalculate to reflect the change. Any changes which are made will be recorded in the activity panel.

Amending a Tasks End Time

Users have the ability to update the End Time of a Task.  They can change the End Time to allow for more/less time to carry out the activity. The new end time of the task will be reflected in the Forecast End time of the Task.

Again, as a result of this, the Percentage Complete will be updated and a record will be added to the Runbook activity panel.

Updating the Percentage Complete of a Task

Lastly, Users also have the ability to update the progress of a Task by updating the Percentage Complete.

This may occur when a user knows they are half way through their task, rather than 75% of the way through, so they may change the percentage to reflect this.

In doing so the system will recalculate the new Forecast End Time of the Task, and a record will be entered into the Runbook activity.
