Creating a High Level Plan

The High Level Plan feature enables you to create an end to end plan, with a strong visual view of how this plan fits together within a specific timeline. When you're ready, the plan can then be hooked into the detailed activities of your cutover, so that during a go live scenario, you get a real time, dynamic view of that High Level Plan, driven by the detail of the various drivers.

To Create a High Level Plan, from the Left Hand Menu, navigate to HLP.

This will then launch the List High Level Plans modal window. Click Create Plan and this will launch the Create High Level Plan Modal Window. From here you will be asked to provide a Group which the plan should be aligned to, a Title for the Plan, a Start Time, Duration and start and duration Tolerances. These are the mandatory fields. In addition to these you have the option to add a Late duration contingency and Description of the Plan.

Please note that these can be amended at a later date if required.

The Late Duration - this is the amount of time which will be deemed acceptable before a component will be flagged as being late to finish.

Early Start Tolerance - the amount of time which the stages can be scheduled to start before the component start time, before being flagged as misaligned

Late Start Tolerance - the amount of time which the stages can be scheduled to start after the component start time before being flagged as misaligned

Less Duration Tolerance - the minimum difference in duration between the Stage Duration of the Stages mapped to the Component and the Component Duration

More Duration Tolerance - the maximum difference in duration between the Stage Duration of the Stages mapped to the Component and the Component Duration

On selecting Create Plan you will be presented with a basic plan. By default when a plan is created you are given one Workstream and one Swimlane.

The Viewport which runs along the bottom of the screen, is where you can chose how much of the plan you wish to see at any given time.
