Interactive Reports Overview

The Interactive Reports function is ICEFLOs Oracle SQL-based report-building and custom display tool. It performs two main functions

  1.  Shipped with a series standard reports (that vary across screens), Interactive Reports allows users to chose what data they wish to display on whatever screen they are on
  2. Using a series of Oracle operators and commands, in conjunction with ICEFLO data, users can build, test, run, save and publish (or keep private) more complex reports tailored to display/report on specific data requirements for their given role, one or more Runbooks or an ICEFLO Event.

Note: Whilst the basic display function of Interactive Reports is simple to use and is designed to select that show data already in place, the Oracle-based function is more complex, allows users to compare, contrast and derive output from data and therefore requires a more initimate knowledge of Oracle, its databases and SQL functionality.

To get the best value from the more complex reporting capability within ICEFLO, users should have knowledge of Oracle products and refer to the link below

Default Reports

Every Interactive Report has it's own suite of Default (shipped) reports.  These reports are the anticipated useful suite of data combinations enabling the ICEFLO user community to fulfill their roles.  The usefulness of these reports will typically depend on two things.

1. The Role of the user (e.g. senior manager, technical specialist, implementation manager, issue manager) - very often these users will all have very different needs so far as the data suite they want to focus their attention on

2. The state of the data within the interactive report.  For example, let's consider the List Tasks screen.  For an Runbook in a state of CONSTRUCTION, arguably no one will have much use for the "Active & Available Tasks" report (only exception to this would be if there were Pre-Implementation phase tasks in states of AVAILABLE and ACTIVE at this point).   A Deployment Manager of an ACTIVE Runbook however, will undoubtedly find this report of extreme use whilst orchestrating the successful execution of the Runbook.

The section provides a simple listing of the various Interactive Reports in the ICEFLO solution and their shipped report suite.  i.e their Default Reports.

Each of these Reports can be customised using the Actions drop down and saved as a Private View.
